Reflection
I hope this is not too late to turn it in :) …
In my final project, I decide to do something not like any of my classmate’s subject, although I think I might misunderstand the project topic too. I decided to do a comparison between Japanese anime and American cartoon, and how do they differ from one another. First of all, I want to introduce what is an anime, and what do they look like in if you ever go to watch them. What I like the most about anime is their genre, they have a lot of genres that American cartoon don’t cover. And yes, although America cartoon cover a lot of friendship themes, there are so few of an ordinary life, normal theme like Japanese anime. For example, the basket, I know that I didn’t introduce this in the power point, so I don’t want to go deep in this.
In American cartoon, there are always a barrier between define graphic and undefined graphic. For example, Phineas and Ferb, they don’t really look like human to me. They have a very odd nose and odd body shape. Especially, their odd finish, it was always something missing or disappears when their mom about to discover what Phineas and Ferb did, that’s so coincidence and in real life they don’t exit. While watching several episodes and quitted, I conglomerated that they never end. Another different point from American cartoon is there theme song. They never change! From the point when they first went on air to now, it is just so old and boring. American cartoon does not really make for teen and adult. For example, me, I cannot sit for hours to watch American cartoon, its themes look so alike that it bored me out. I don’t really know if the artists were lazy to draw a define cartoon or it is their way to do it for so long. And there is not a lot of fan from around the world of American cartoon. The good thing about the cartoon is their space. They were able to show a point, a theme in one episode. They are quick and easy for kids to understand, and maybe a little laughs.
In Japanese anime, there are so many things you can watch online. They are sourced from Japanese history, classical literature, adult-oriented themes, and even American westerns. While animation for children exists, most anime are intended for an older audience. And so many genres like Ecchi, Harem, Hentai(18+), Magical girl, Mecha, Yaoi, Yuri. They have varied of theme songs that I like. They have a define way of drawing that I think fit the most for human. Yes, they have demons and creatures, but they were draw in a way of more define look. Although anime have episode and seasons, and they have to end at some point, but it is good like that. Also there are a lot of fans around the world for anime. A con for this is also the way they draw. If the character is talking, they’re only moving their lips; it can be also a lazy way of anime.
I really enjoyed making this project. At the end, I don’t really think that I put up a clip show how American cartoon and anime songs are differ. That was my first clip ever :D.
